Metamask instructions

1. Download Metamask on you phone. Make sure it is the official legit app.
2. Once installed, tap Open (or find the MetaMask icon on your home screen/app drawer and tap it).

After Installation

1. When you open the app for the first time, select Create New Wallet.
2. If creating a new wallet, follow the on-screen prompts (it will generate a Secret Recovery Phrase—write it down securely offline and never share it).
3. Set up a password/PIN or enable biometric security (Face ID/Touch ID on iOS, fingerprint on Android) for the app.
4. The password enables you to open Metamask. The secret recovery phrase will allow you to recreate the wallet if you lose the phone or password. Never share the recovery phrase and store it securely!

Crypto coins are tied to specific networks. Some coins exist on multiple networks, some coins exist only on one network. When you transfer coins, you need to make sure you are doing it on the right network.

For Polymarket you need a stablecoin called USDC, which exists on multiple networks. Polymarket uses the Polygon network for transferring coins, this is important. If you send a coin via the wrong network, it can be lost forever.

1. In Metamask, switch to the Polygon network. It may not be a default network already enabled, you may have to add it to your metamask.

2. Click the Receive button to receive crypto into your wallet.

3. You will see a list of receiving addresses for each of the networks currently enabled in your wallet.

4. Copy the address for the Polygon network. This is your public address.

5. Send that address to John.

6. John will send $50 in USDC to your wallet. Ack when you see it in your wallet.

7. Send John $50 via Venmo.
